Hailing from Germany, Porsche has raced ahead of the rest of the world once again with its latest win. Following victories at Le Mans 2017, Nürburgring, in Mexico and in the US, the Porsche Motorsport LMP1 continued their streak at Six Hours of Shanghai 2017. The team finished second and third at the penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, with Porsche taking the drivers’ championship title, as well as manufacturers’ for the third consecutive time.
Driver trio Earl Bamber, Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley finished second in the six-hour Shanghai race, solidifying a place as the new world champions. The sister car — driven by Neel Jani, André Lotterer and Nick Tandy — took third.
As the official timing partner of Porsche Motorsport, luxury watch brand Chopard accompanied Porsche for a fourth year in the World Endurance Championship. Chopard presented its Superfast Power Control Porsche 919 HF Edition for the first time in China, produced as a limited series of just 100 pieces, boasting a Chopard high-frequency Calibre 01.11-M. Exclusively available in Chopard boutiques, the timepiece pays homage to partner Porsche Motorsport’s success in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and the zooming Porsche 919 Hybrid car.
The FIA World Endurance Championship will continue on November 16, 2017 for the last race of the season: Six Hours of Bahrain. For more information on the watch, please visit chopard.com. To learn about the teams, please visit porsche.com.
