Easterners know that the Hamptons is one of the buzziest summer getaways – a place where you trade cars honking for birds chirping and pavement for sand. Whether you’re staying in East Hampton, Water Mill, Sag Harbor or Montauk, you must make a stop to one of the chicest hotels and social hotspots: The Surf Lodge.
Those lucky enough to be in New York last weekend had the chance to experience The Surf Lodge without traveling too far. Grey Goose brought the hotel to The Williamsburg Hotel in Brooklyn where the space was transformed into the chic, laid-back aesthetic of the Montauk hotel.
In a continuation of The Surf Lodge’s Summer Concert Series, normally held in Montauk, and has invited stars such as John Legend, Lupe Fiasco, Rüfus du Söl and G Love, among others, to perform for intimate crowds. On Sunday, St Lucia performed, and there were DJ sets from Mayssa and Angel & Dren. Guests included actor Adrien Grenier and models Georgia Fowler and Hilary Rhoda, among others.
The entire space was transformed to look like The Surf Lodge with wicker furniture, chic Grey Goose-branded decor and summery drinks. Guests sipped on drinks while listening to St Lucia perform and took in spectacular views of Manhattan from one of the best rooftops over the bridge during the one-night event.
Grey Goose served custom vodka sodas in sustainable soda cans and the East Breeze, a vodka lemonade with St-Germain elderflower liqueur and blackberry purée.
If you missed this event, don’t fear: The Surf Lodge is hosting a pop-up with Grey Goose for the duration of the summer in Montauk. Go early for sunset drinks and stay for the Summer Concert Series (if you can get tickets). We love it’s fun, beachy vibe. Be sure to book a hotel room – ranging from standard rooms to suites – during your trip to Montauk.
