London, United Kingdom – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
July 2011 saw the opening of ESPA Life at one of London’s new star properties, the Corinthia Hotel London. The spa is the latest by industry leader Sue Harmsworth MBE and is officially the largest spa in the country. It also launches the brand’s new ESPA Life concept, an integrated approach to wellness incorporating complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) into the luxury spa environment.
With over 37,000 square feet spanning four floors, the urban oasis is now ESPA’s worldwide flagship. The very first city-center luxury spa to offer CAM programs to its guests, ESPA Life is led by Max Tomlinson, a celebrated Australian naturopath, nutritionist, homeopath and medical herbalist. Some of the spa’s CAM services will include acupuncture, physical therapy and nutritional analysis, all part of a holistic approach to health and wellness.
Of course, the spa will offer a wide array of fitness programs (led by personal trainer Stephen Price), beauty services (including an in-house hair salon by UK hairstylist to the stars Daniel Galvin) and a collection of natural skin and body treatments and therapies.
Catering to both men and women, the extensive spa offerings include new age-defying facials and a “Rush Hour Beauty” menu with treatments created for maximum results within a short period of time. The spa facilities, open to all hotel guests as well as members of ESPA Life, boast an entire floor of thermal options featuring an impressive 30-foot indoor silver steel swimming pool, an amphitheater sauna and exquisite black mosaic steam rooms. There are 15 treatment “pods,” one private spa suite for larger spa parties and a spa lounge serving nutritious yet delicious cuisine.
The spa offers a two-tiered membership program that allows for usage of ESPA Life facilities along with special discounts and services; ESPA Life elements can also be enjoyed on an à la carte basis.
