There is no specific shopping district in Venice, although the most fashionable areas are located in the area leading from the main station to Saint Mark’s Square.
But whether you are after well-known designers or some unique gifts and souvenirs, Venice will not disappoint. With so many winding narrow alleyways, if you see something you love buy it there and then, as you may never find your way back to that shop again!
BEST SHOPPING AREAS / DISTRICTS
San Marco
Unsurprisingly the focal point for many of the world’s leading fashion brands is the area around Saint Mark’s Square, where you’ll find designer outlets including Armani, Laura Biagiotti, Gucci, Krizia, MaxMara, Missoni, Prada, Trussardi, Valentino and Versace.
The arcades are also home to some of the city’s best jewelers.
coin deparTMenT STore
The Venice branch of Italy’s largest department store is located close to the Rialto district and offers elegant clothing, housewares and beauty departments. The chain was established in 1926 in the Veneto region and the store sells Italian and international brands, including Armani, La Mora Feliz and Calvin Klein.
San BernaBa
With such a rich arts and crafts heritage, including Murano glassware and Burano lace, the city has a vibrant gift shop trade. Check out the San Bernaba district, which has several good shops selling traditional and more unusual gifts, including carved, wooden ornaments, toys, tapestries, papier mache masks and model gondolas.
