DeWitt Announces Brand’s First Steel Watch Collection

By Chris Boyle

Furtive_FTV.HMSDeWitt, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, has announced the launch of its new Furtive collection, the brand’s first line in steel.

This latest creation is an alternative to DeWitt’s “powerful mechanical watches”, and displays a relaxed allure.

Available in automatic and chronograph versions, the new model draws its inspiration from the world of sports and is targeted at a young, “sporty-chic” clientele.

The subtle combination of steel and black PVD on a robust 42mm case reinforces the contemporary spirit of the watch. The famous imperial column motif, a tribute to the historical legacy of the DeWitt family, is still present, but in a more understated way.

The curved case is fitted on a metal or rubber strap that fits the wrist perfectly for optimal comfort.

The Furtive Automatic comes either with delicate and elegant central seconds, or with a seconds counter at 6 o’clock. The hour and minute hands in 18-carat white gold are openwork and sword-shaped.

The dials on the Automatic demonstrate the creative force of the brand. Blending Art Deco style and innovative industrial design, the central seconds version offers exciting contrasts of texture and light.

The Chronograph meanwhile, is equipped with a function displaying the hours, minutes, seconds and chronograph. Pushing back technical and aesthetic limits yet further, the chronograph minute counter in the centre of the dial takes form of a turning disc with an open aperture that reveals the countdown of the minutes as it turns.

Both dials come in a choice of three colours: midnight blue, white or black.

Finally, the new Furtive line meets the high standards of finish adopted by the DeWitt Manufacture since its creation: satin-finished, polished and chamfered surfaces.

With its new steel Furtive collection, the DeWitt brand is beginning a new chapter in its history.
