TONHALLE ORCHESTRA ZURICH
Founded in 1868, the Tonhalle Orchestra is the oldest symphony orchestra in Switzerland and its home, the neue Tonhalle, is widely acknowledged as one of the finest concert halls in the world.
Under the direction of its chief conductor, David Zinman, the Tonhalle Orchestra has become one of Europe’s leading ensembles and it has received the coveted German Record Critic’s Award for its performances. Landmark recordings of works by Strauss, Schumann and Beethoven have added further prestige to this fine orchestra.
