The Temple House will open in July 2015 in Chengdu, China. Swire Hotel’s latest hotel and part of The House Collective will be located in the heart of the city, within the Chengdu Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex, a project jointly developed by Sino-Ocean Land and Swire Properties.
Designed by UK-based architects MakeArchitects, the 100-room hotel and its 42 adjoining serviced apartments form an integral part of the city government’s conservation project to preserve the surrounding heritage buildings next to the thousand-year-old Daci Temple. The three-dimensional woven façade combines modern design with the traditional Chengdu architectural elements of timber, brick and step stones. Elegant bamboo trees frame the hotel’s entrance, which is set in a beautifully restored hundred-year-old Chinese courtyard building first built in the Qing Dynasty.
Stylishly designed by Avroko and concepts developed by David Laris, the restaurants and bars at The Temple House will be the latest addition to the Chengdu dining scene and destination neighbourhood venues in their own right. Deliberately located at street or courtyard level, all the outlets are designed to be easily accessible and attract passers-by from the recently opened collection of shops and boutiques.
The Temple House offers a variety of Restaurants and Bars including The Temple Café, Tivano and Jing.
