The Bard at The London Edition
- 40ml Chivas 12
- 15ml Rhubarb bitters
- 15ml Cynar Amaro
- Maraschino cherry to garnish
To create this Burns Night whisky cocktail, simply combine all the ingredients, stir and strain into a cocktail glass, then garnish with the maraschino cherry.
Lobby Bar at The London Edition will be serving three special Chivas whisky-based cocktails in the week leading up to Burns Night, which falls on January 25th, and at its Burns Night party. This Scottish tradition celebrates the life and poetry of Robert Burns, taking place on the anniversary of his 1759 birth. Each year, the occasion is marked with haggis, whisky, music and poetry.
This year, the London Edition hotel’s Lobby Bar will be transformed into a celebration of Scotland for the occasion. Expect music from London’s top Ceilidh five-piece, Licence to Ceilidh, and specially created cocktails incorporating Chivas 12 — a whisky distinguished by its honey, vanilla and ripe apple notes.
Try the rhubarb-infused cocktail, The Bard; and Bobby’s Bru punch made with Chivas 12, toasted coconut Irn Bru reduction, syrup, lemon juice and green tea with a lemon wheel and grated tonka garnish; or go for the Sentimental Burns incorporating Chivas 12, Suze bitters, RinQuinQuin liqueur, lemon juice, syrup, soda and a lemon wedge.
These cocktails will be complemented by traditional Scottish bites including vegetarian and meat haggis balls and traditional shortbread — the two Highland staples that were served at the first ever Burns Night celebration back in 1801.
With its cozy décor and roaring fire setting the stage for the Burns Night revelry, this is the ideal location for a winter celebration of the Scottish icon.
