By Zahra Al-Kateb

By Alice Manly

President Wilson Hotel, Geneva, SwitzerlandFrom private helicopters to personal chefs and butlers, Elite Travelers’ list of Top 100 Suites picks out the world’s most iconic rooms to stay in this year. The hand selected list recognizes where hotels have gone the extra mile to create something truly extraordinary, whether that be Qualia’s 39ft infinity pool with panoramic views over the Coral Sea in the Beach House, Australia or the private wine cellar, bar and rooftop gardens at the center of Shanghai in The Mandarin Oriental’s Presidential Suite.

Showcased are some extravagantly vast suites, with the largest being the colorful Casona Don Carlos in Mukul, Nicargagua, with 20,000 sq ft of combined indoor and outdoor living and 80 ft high ceilings. With a private elevator and stunning views of the famous Seven Mile beach, The Penthouse at The Ritz- Carlton, Grand Cayman is the second biggest suite with its own cinema and library in the 18,000 sq ft space.

Other suites with luxurious enormity include the Penthouse Suite at the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez (17,975sq ft), right on the Boulevard de la Croisette, and the Hilltop Estate, Fiji (12,000 sq ft) which is the perfect getaway for those wishing to embrace the diving, hiking and horse riding or for those who prefer to relax at the spa. The Hilltop Estate and the Penthouse Suite rank as the third seventh most expensive suites on the list, with its starting price at $44,000 and $33,800 respectively.

The two suites that share the title of most costly, at $75,000, do so with great style; The Royal Penthouse Suite at the President Wilson Hotel, Geneva is a favorite among heads of state and celebrities, and with good reason, for the twelve-bedroom suite is home to a gym, Jacuzzi, billiards table and even a board room, and has stunning views over Lake Geneva. The Terrace Suite at The Mark, New York, matches this extravagant style, as America’s largest suite and has access to private dinners cooked by the three Michelin star chef, Jean- Georges Vongerichten.
