The Irish luxury whiskey distiller Midleton has just marked a new era for the brand by launching the Midleton Very Rare Cask Circle, a private members club for devout whiskey connoisseurs. Launched to coincide with the release of Midleton Very Rare Vintage 2017, the 34th edition of a collectible range first unveiled in 1984, this exclusive members club will provide individuals with the unique opportunity to obtain their own cask of rare Irish whiskey.
Members can choose their cask from a selection put together by the master distiller Brian Nation. Each one is chosen for its exceptional quality and rarity in a collection that spans an array of whiskey styles and ages, matured in cask types ranging from bourbon, sherry and malaga to port, Irish oak and rum. Once a cask has been chosen that member then has the choice of bottling it immediately or requesting bottles as and when they’re required.
By becoming a member, guests also have access to the Distillery Concierge, an exclusive service that assists members on every step of their whiskey journey, from choosing their cask to planning a trip around Ireland while taking in the best golf courses and most idyllic scenery.
On the launch of Midleton’s new members club, the chairman and CEO of Irish Distillers Jean Christophe-Coutures says: “Irish Distillers introduced the world to luxury Irish whiskey back in 1984 and Midleton Very Rare has since become the embodiment of exceptional quality, craftsmanship and collectability. The unveiling of the Midleton Very Rare Cask Circle Club heralds a new era for luxury Irish whiskey and is testament to the growing demand for our finest, prestige Irish whiskeys around the world.”
And on the release of Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2017, Midleton’s master distiller Brian Nation adds: “It has been a privilege for me to continue the legacy of Midleton Very Rare that Barry Crockett started in 1984. Midleton Very Rare is rightfully regarded as the pinnacle of Irish whiskey with each vintage cherished by collectors and whiskey enthusiasts all over the world.”
