Perrier-Jouët Collaborates with Luftwerk for Design Miami/

By Olivia Cuccaro

Perrier-Jouët luftwerk design miami/In just a few short months, the most prominent members of the design world will gather in Florida for the annual Design Miami/  fair. Held alongside Art Basel Miami Beach, the Design Miami/ forum will once again see champagne house Perrier-Jouët showcase its artistic side — this time in collaboration with Luftwerk.

Partnered with Design Miami/ since 2012, Maison Perrier-Jouët seeks out exciting designers each year to express the brand through art. Past collaborators have included Glithero, Simon Heidjens, mischer’traxler and Ritsue Mishima, with last year’s installation by Andrew Kudless culminating in a tree-inspired creation.

For Design Miami/ 2017, Perrier-Jouët has tapped Chicago-based artists Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero of Luftwerk to create pieces to display throughout the city. The design team has most recently worked with iconic architecture, debuting installations at renowned sites such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House and Fallingwater, and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnworth house.

The duo has credited Perrier-Jouët’s Art Nouveau heritage as the muse for the design, which uses projected color and light to shift perception of familiar environments. (In 1902, the champagne house collaborated with Art Nouveau pioneer Emile Gallé, who designed the anemone motif that appears on Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque prestige cuvée.) The element of light in the Luftwerk installation draws on the way the champagne production process involves both sunlight and darkness. The Luftwerk installation will be on display at Design Miami/ as well as at L’Eden by Perrier-Jouët and Miami International Airport.

Perrier-Jouët grand brut limited edition design miami/

In celebration of the upcoming Miami event, Perrier-Jouët has released a limited-edition Grand Brut champagne that reflects the city in its tropical imagery. The exotic design features a crocodile, pink flamingos, flowers and greenery against a backdrop of Miami’s architecture to kick off a new collection of city-inspired champagne bottles.

Design Miami/ will take place at Meridian Avenue and 19th Street, adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami, FL 33139 from December 6 to 10, 2017. For ticketing and more information, please visit designmiami.com.
