Plaid takes a feminine twist this season, appearing in ladylike silhouettes and colors. At Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia showed an oversized plaid navy-and-white top whose dramatic grid contrasted beautifully with its nipped waist and trailing asymmetrical hem. Christian Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri, meanwhile, impressed us with a take-no-prisoners plaid power suit amped up with an off-the-shoulder collar. Known for his strong yet feminine clothing and political stances supporting women’s empowerment, Prabal Gurung offered one of the season’s best plaids: a pink ruched dress worn atop matching wide-leg pants, perfectly encapsulating the trend. Also using soft pink, Nina Ricci’s Guillaume Henry paired a pink-and-gray blazer with a full gray skirt and a delicate lace top.
