The Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, has recently unveiled two new jewels in its crown of suites with the Savoy Suite and the new Royal Suite, both affording unrivaled views of the River Thames and iconic London landmarks from floor to ceiling windows.
The new Royal Suite responds to the expectations of a modern luxury traveler and offers a more residential style of accommodation that meets the desire to ‘live in the space as if living at home.’ Titans of industry, world leaders, and visiting royalty, will now enjoy an apartment-like space that not only represents the height of luxury, but that also reflects the style of home they would choose to reside in themselves. With award-winning designer Pierre-Yves Rochon and ReardonSmith Architects heading up the design of both, The Royal Suite at The Savoy has been remodeled to enhance the heart of the space and encourage harmonious flow between the rooms. The living spaces, whilst luxurious, reflect a comfortable and less formal experience. In the Living Room a new private luxury bar is clad with an exquisite rippled glass façade and a relaxed Morning Room provides an intimate space for residents to dine with a view.
The Savoy Suite, which can be comprised as one or two- bedroom accommodation, also offers a space that’s residential in style, with interiors that maintain the grandeur of The Savoy whilst adding a modern elegance for the 21st century clientele. Edwardian influences are combined with a color palette of creams, ivories and blacks in keeping with the 1930’s and which run through other areas of the hotel. A bolder, contrasting cinnamon tone provides warmth and complements the wood used throughout the suite.
The view from both suites is the very same that inspired Claude Monet to paint his famous series of London bridges as he resided in what is now the Savoy Suite for the first of three lengthy stays between 1899 and 1901. By way of tribute to Monet and all artists, both past and living, who have been inspired by, and continue to take inspiration from The Savoy, the Savoy Suite will feature a changing private art collection by a contemporary artist giving guests the unique opportunity to enjoy their own private exhibition within their accommodation.
