Italian heritage brand Tod’s is launching its first-ever Tod’s Factory capsule collection in collaboration with designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua. Staying true to the brand’s Italian roots, Tod’s enlisted the No.21 designer to infuse his own vision into seven ready-to-wear looks and nine shoe styles.
The collection features only three colors on these pieces: Dell’Acqua’s signature rose and cipria and black colorways, plus Tod’s tan ‘vachetta’ color. Expect gorgeous moccasins, ballerina flats adorned with velvet bows, and stretch ankle boots with Tod’s classic ‘gommini’ technique, as well as leather-infused RTW (including skirts, puffer jackets and chic coats). Sticking to the iconic Tod’s look, each piece showcases Dell’Acqua’s elegant flair.
Dell’Acqua’s collection marks the first of many collaborations for Tod’s (going forward, the brand will present collections with high-profile designers, influencers and artists) who are invited to design a collection that reflects their idea of Tod’s DNA. Tod’s Factory (the name is an homage to the late Andy Warhol) is a creative initiative that hopes to bring different perspectives and collections to the brand. These limited-edition collections will be dropped throughout the year.
You’ll be able to shop Dell’Acqua’s capsule collection as soon as November 20 at the Tod’s boutiques on Madison Avenue in New York and Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles.
