For idyllic waterside and courtyard settings where the island’s culinary identity and local ingredients are fused with diverse international influence, seek out the Greek isle’s most outstanding dining spots. These are the five best restaurants in Mykonos.
Spilia Seaside Restaurant
One of the most dramatic dining settings on Mykonos, the seaside restaurant Spilia (which translates to cave) is perched on the rocks of Agia Anna cove by Kalafatis beach, positioned overlooking the sea. The restaurant places the focus on Mediterranean-Mykonian cuisine and in particular the seafood and fish that comes straight from the water; oysters, mussels and urchins as well as crayfish and lobster come straight from a natural sea pool.
Interni
This courtyard restaurant is a long-running favorite on the island, combining gastronomy with an idyllic garden setting, which was designed by Paola Navone. The Mediterranean cuisine here is fused with flavors from across the globe. Tuck into dishes like fresh yellowfin tuna sous vide with caponata, wasabi mayo, leek, wakame salad and soy-honey sauce, Miyazaki wagyu strip loin sautéed with pearl barley risotto and aged red wine sauce, and risotto with lobster tail, sweet potato, aromatic butter and truffle oil.

Ling Ling – Hakkasan
The Mykonos outpost of the Hakkasan collection, this open-air restaurant and bar with private dining and a lounge is located within the island’s old town. The restaurant offers a Cantonese menu of dishes fusing the signature cuisine of Hakkasan with local ingredients; the dim sum platter includes lobster, king prawn, seabass and Mediterranean red prawn truffle dumplings. Aside from Hakkasan’s famous dim sum, try the braised lobster with black Chinese vinegar, the grilled Chilean seabass in honey or the black truffle roast duck.
Matsuhisa Restaurant
Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s Japanese-South American fusion fare has become known across the globe, in particular for the chef’s signature plates such as black cod with miso and new style sashimi. He opened his restaurant here at the Belvedere Hotel in 2004 to combine his distinct culinary style with the local ingredients, taking particular pride in the fresh seafood. Guests here can dine by the pool with a view over the hillside’s white houses, which lead down to the Aegean Sea. The wine cellar here has won awards too, as it provides an extensive collection of old and new world wines, including a number of Greek labels.
Kiku
This fine dining restaurant at luxury hotel Cavo Tagoo pays tribute to Japanese cuisine and culture. In a Japanese inspired ocean-facing and open-fronted space designed by Sissy Fida, diners can savor modern gourmet Japanese dishes and sushi with a view over the infinity pool and the sea beyond. Try the Royal California sushi rolls, which come topped with beluga caviar, or the Gold Nigiri with beluga caviar, Hamachi and fresh wasabi.
