This tropical and refreshing drink is one of the many thoughtful craft cocktails on La Botica’s menu, the first-ever speakeasy concept bar at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, a Rosewood Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. This cocktail is named directly after the speakeasy bar in which it is served.
First opened on January 1, the hotel speakeasy and piano bar takes you back to the 1920s in design, menu and music. La Botica, which means drugstore in Spanish, focuses on herbal-infused cocktails and its apothecary-style drinks. The menu has a diverse range of drinks, made with herbs, spices, flowers and organic produce and botanicals. Each cocktail has been hand-crafted by the expert team at La Botica. Signature cocktails include the Bee’s Wax Old Fashioned (infused with honey); Lavender Cocktail (made with brown butter and vanilla); Mate Fizz (made with cachaca, lemon verbena and yerba mate); Rose Negroni (made with rose and pink peppercorn-infused gin); and a Fig Sour (made with Olorosso Sherry, lime juice, fig and an egg white, among other things). The menu offers something for everyone, and guests can create their own drinks – be it with a rare spirit or low-proof.
There’s a sexy ambience and incredible entertainment to match. The bar will also have an artist in residence, Rosalía de Cuba. The singer will sing Cuban, Caribbean and Latin rhythms and is the hotel’s first-ever artist in residence. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a nightcap after a delicious dinner at one of the hotel’s restaurants and feel like you’re in a bygone era. No one knows how to create an exceptional speakeasy experience like bar manager, Philippe Zaigue, who co-founded Hanky Panky, a famous speakeasy in Mexico City.
La Botica will be open from 7pm to 2am, with live music from 9pm to 12am.
