It’s Friday, the working week is drawing to a close and the weekend is upon us, but there’s just enough time to squeeze in one final article, a last call before closing time.

For years, Friday has been the day we publish our regular cocktail feature, Cocktail of the Week. Thankfully, that’s going to continue. However, some of you may have noticed that our website has received somewhat of a refresh recently, making this the perfect time to give some of our regular features a new lease of life.

So let me introduce The Last Call, our new regular cocktail feature. Arriving each Friday, The Last Call will highlight the latest delights from behind the bar: featuring innovative mixology from some of the world’s greatest bartenders and accessible serves perfect for trying at home.

The Last Call looks to span the gap between going out and staying in. Some weeks it will be all about the latest and greatest bar openings, highlighting where you should imbibe next, while other weeks we’ll be shining the light on the truly talented distillers and providing at-home recipes that feature bottles well worth adding to your collection.

To kick things off for the first iteration of The Last Call, we’re heading to London’s Soho and the celebrated Ronnie Scott’s jazz bar for a cocktail collaboration from the minds of Courvoisier and the highly talented Ezra Collective.

This new cocktail, The Ezra Twist, was designed by Courvoisier brand ambassador Tristram Fini, who looked to combine the flavors that represent the British Jazz quintet Ezra Collective’s unique taste and artistic expression, while also accentuating the floral notes of Courvoisier VSOP Cognac.

While the legendary Ronnie Scott’s was home to the Ezra Collective X Courvoisier BRITs After Party, following the jazz group’s success at the awards, The Ezra Twist was first revealed at an intimate supper club hosted by Ezra Collective.

“Hosting is a huge part of who we are and our culture, so we’re excited to have partnered with Courvoisier to create The Ezra Twist, our signature serve, which tastes like celebration and creativity. It’s the drink to toast with,” said Ezra Collective. “We can’t wait for what’s to come of our partnership with Courvoisier, because it helps us remember those meaningful and special moments that have defined Ezra Collective.”

The Ezra Twist combines Courvoisier VSOP Cognac with lemon juice, raspberry syrup, and an unusual white grape and apricot soda to create a light, refreshing serve that makes an excellent choice for a celebratory toast.

“The Ezra Twist is an ode to Ezra Collective’s artistic mastery through a marriage of Ezra’s flavor choices of citrus and raspberry, while amplifying the floral, fruity notes of Courvoisier VSOP,” said the cocktails creator Tristram Fini. “In a celebration of flavors, the white grape and apricot soda echoes its freshness, as cognac is based on grapes and the apricot complements all elements of Courvoisier VSOP.”

0.85 oz Lemon juice

0.5 oz Raspberry syrup

3.5 oz White grape and apricot soda
