To celebrate the momentous occasion of the birth of HRH Prince of Cambridge, The Langham, London has created a Champagne cocktail for those wishing to raise a glass to toast the new Royal arrival.
Created by International Bartender of The Year Alex Kratena, the cocktail combines Tapatio tequila, cedar wood syrup, lemon juice and Peychaud’s bitters with Ruinart blanc de blancs to create an aromatic and light blend that is served in a coupe enveloped in scented blue crepe paper.
The ‘Royal Toast’ cocktail is priced at £16.50 and will be served until 22nd August 2013.
The Langham opened in 1865 as Europe’s first ‘Grand Hotel’ and boasted Royal connections from the outset, as HRH The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) presided over the official opening.
Artesian has received numerous accolades in the last two years. This year, Kratena received ‘Bar Personality of the Year Award’ by Imbibe Magazine.
In 2012 Artesian was awarded the ‘Best European Bar’ trophy at Cocktails and Spirit Awards, Paris, as well as scooping ‘World’s Best Hotel Bar’ award at the prestigious Spirited Awards 2012, Tales of Cocktail, New Orleans and was voted ‘The World’s Best Bar’ by Drinks International Magazine.
