Said to be the developer behind the world’s most advanced autonomous manned flying vehicles, Passenger Drone is on a mission to making self flying manned drones available to everyone. The latest step in this pursuit is the launch of the developer’s state-of-the-art two-seat electric manned aircraft.
Around the size of a small car, Passenger Drone has the vision of changing traditional means of transportation. The drone’s touchscreen allows passengers to select their destination then be transported there at a speed of up to 80km/h.
From May 2017 the aircraft went through a period of intensive performance testing, and in August the first manned flights with passengers onboard took place. With its stability and maneuverability in both manual and autonomous modes, both the results and passenger feedback proved overwhelmingly positive.
The Passenger Drone is fitted with 16 electric engines, translating to low noise, high speed and zero emissions, while the integration of a less complex engine system than other aircraft of its kind enhances its safety and performance. The structure then consists of strong but lightweight carbon fiber composites, in which custom-designed avionics, stability systems and electrical control systems are integrated.
When traffic congestion is such as issue in cities across the world, Passenger Drone sees this new aircraft as the potential for change in urban transportation.
