The AAA Five Diamond resort Grand Velas Riviera Maya is giving guests the chance to throw extravagant birthday parties for kids and teens. Taking place at the oceanfront Kid’s Club or surrounded by Mayan jungle, the kids parties come with balloons, Mexican candy, a piñata and birthday cake, and incorporate a range of activities, from XBOX and Wii, and arts and crafts to mini golf and dreamcatcher weaving. These kids parties come included in the resort’s nightly rate, but another far more extravagant option has been created for teens, with a price tag of $2m.
The Billionaire’s Birthday Package is designed for over-the-top coming of age celebrations, beginning with private jet transportation from anywhere in the U.S., Mexico or Canada, and private check-in with edible gold popsicles and welcome bags containing an iWatch.
During a three-night stay in a two-bedroom Presidential Suite, the birthday guests have exclusive access to the resort’s award-winning spa for a Gold Treatment, custom-designed clothing by Pineda Covalin, and a skydive or flyboard experience for the host and friends. A fireworks show, candy bar, renowned DJ and concert by a top performing artist such as Maroon 5 complete the celebration.
For the big event, catering is in the expert hands of famed chef Mike Alonso of Grand Velas’ signature restaurant Cocina de Autor and this custom cuisine is accompanied by mocktails created by master mixologist Moises Sierra Saenz.
To make the party even more special, guests can rent diamonds and other fine jewelry for the occasion through the resort’s Rent a Rock program.
