A restaurant that celebrates the culinary traditions of northeast and southwest Asia, Sen Lin provides guests at the luxury Yucatan resort Grand Velas Riviera Maya with a more diverse gastronomic experience during their stay, pairing mouthwatering Asian specialties with an indoor-outdoor setting amid the coastline’s tropical forest. Now, the restaurant has further proven its culinary appeal by earning the coveted AAA Four Diamond Award.
The fourth restaurant at the resorts to have been awarded four or more diamonds, this new rating brings the resort’s collective diamond count up to 22 – a particularly remarkable status in the world of all-inclusive resorts proving that each of their restaurants is on a par with top restaurants around the world.
Wayu “Light” Wattanakamin is the chef behind the restaurant’s celebrated menus. Drawing on 14 years of experience and a passion for Asia’s many different cuisines, Wattanakamin creates inspired dishes like bamboo-steamed buns filled with pork, pork wontons with pickled vegetables, Siam pad Thai and rack of lamb with sriracha and grapes. The décor complements this fusion cuisine with authentic Asian accents.
Elsewhere at the resort you’ll find the AAA Five Diamond restaurant Cocina de Autor, and Four Diamond restaurants Frida and Piaf. Each year AAA reviews more than 31,000 restaurants, and only a small percentage makes the AAA Four Diamond List. Rated on their food, service, décor and ambience, this is a distinction that truly sets a restaurant apart in the culinary world.
