The Restaurant
In the tiny hamlet of Daroca de Rioja, with a population of approximately fifty, lies Venta Moncalvillo, a culinary destination run by brothers Ignacio and Carlos Echapresto. Ignacio, the chef, once worked in a blacksmith's shop before dedicating himself to the kitchen. Carlos manages the dining room and wine cellar. The restaurant holds two Michelin stars, a testament to their dedication to sustainability and locality. The experience begins with a stroll through their kitchen garden, followed by snacks before entering the dining room. The tasting menu changes with the seasons, highlighting ingredients picked daily from their garden. The splendid wine cellar also includes gourmet mead produced on the property.
