London’s iconic diamond and watch company opens a salon in Osaka and fetes British luxury brands in Tokyo.
Located in theFranck Muller Watchland boutique, the Osaka salon’s sleek interiors are in Backes & Strauss’ signature black and gold. The oval-shaped space is an homage to the company’s Regent Collection of so-shaped timepieces.
On April 21, 2013, Backes & Strauss inaugurated the salon with a series of celebratory events, including an afternoon tea with VIP clients and elegant evening cocktail reception.
Three days earlier, Backes & Strauss joined Aston Martin, Henry Poole and 250 guests in Tokyo’s Tsunamachi Mitsui Club to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Harrisons of Edinburgh.
The milestone was marked with a cocktail reception, remarks by H.E. Tim Hitchens, the British Ambassador to Japan, and a roundtable discussion about British luxury goods, chaired by fashion journalist Yoshimi Hasegawa and featuring Mark Dunsford, CEO of Harrisons of Edinburgh, and Backes & Strauss CEO Vartkess Knadjian.
