Two years in the making, this Corum Lab 02 watch is equipped with an all-new movement that boasts a flying tourbillon (an escapement that compensates for errors in timekeeping due to the effects of gravity on the watch when it is in different positions on the wrist), flying gear train and a few other firsts for Corum. The skeletonized movement consists of 416 individually finished and assembled parts. To accomplish the flying wheels that track the time, the master watchmakers had to create a longer axis for the gear train (that is devoid of a top bridge) and set the movement on a transparent sapphire plate. The 45mm watch can also be customized (using different materials and stones). Just 10 pieces will be made.
