In time for its 10th anniversary, Golden Concept – the brand known for creating luxury phone and Apple Watch cases – has revealed what it is describing as “the world’s most expensive Apple Watch case”. Priced at $20,000, Golden Concept’s Racing Sport Diamond Ultra case is one way of making Apple’s most premium smartwatch that little bit more lux.
So what do you get for those $20,000? The Racing Sport Diamond Ultra features 5.6 carats of VVC diamonds, which equates to 1068 individual diamonds, 138 of these can be found on the buckle, while the rest adorn the front of the case. Each of these rocks is set individually by hand, a process that takes an expert around 46 hours. The case itself is made of stainless steel.
The launch of this new case has been timed with Golden Concept’s 10th anniversary celebration. Limited to only 10 pieces, this exceptionally limited product was released to the public on September 17th. Each case will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, which adds further detail on the number and total carat weight of the diamonds.

This new watch case finds itself in an interesting position. When the first Apple Watch Ultra was released in September 2022, it was pitched as a more rugged iteration of the standard Apple watch, and so was positioned towards those who enjoy outdoor activities.
Due to this, the Ultra was built from titanium as opposed to the stainless steel of the standard Apple watch, it also features a scratch-resistant crystal display and greater water resistance of around 130ft. So it’s safe to say that before the addition of a case, the Apple Watch Ultra was already a fairly well-protected device.
In reality, the Racing Sport Diamond Ultra case from Golden Concept is not to add additional protection to the Apple Watch Ultra. A case that costs 25x more than the device it is protecting would be ludicrous. The Racing Sport Diamond Ultra is all about the looks, in which case it all comes down to personal preference.
However, it may be worth bearing in mind that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected in 2025 and any changes to its form factor would essentially make this $20,000 case, defunct.
