Acting as the hotel of choice for the world’s rich and famous is no easy feat in a place as hyper-competitive as New York City, where five-star hotels can be found on most blocks. The Mark Penthouse has to be seen to be believed — the 10,000-sq-ft suite has five bedrooms across two floors, six bathrooms, two powder rooms, two wet bars and a living room with a soaring 26-ft ceiling that can be transformed into a ball room if you fancy hosting your very own gala. It also has a conservatory, library, grand dining room and a gorgeous rooftop terrace with an alfresco dining and entertaining space. Despite its unmistakable grandeur, the penthouse has a welcoming feel with decor more akin to a chic apartment (thanks to legendary French designer Jacques Grange’s thoughtful touches).
