When the designer of a resort has the motto, “the odder the better,” you can rest assured you’ll be in for a unique and memorable stay. Capella Ubud, designed by American landscape architect Bill Bensley, is an über-luxe take on camping and is made up of 22 one-bedroom tents and the two-bedroom lodge. The Lodge has exceptional views of the Keliki Valley, best enjoyed from the large wooden terrace that juts out into the forest. The suite has an indoor/outdoor setup; the heated indoor pool flows to the outside and the living area follows suit. There are two bathrooms, one with a Japanese tub and one with a hand-hammered copper tub.
