The opening of The Oberoi, New Delhi in 1965 marked the start of a new generation of luxury hotels in the Indian capital. Said to be the first hotel in India to offer a personalized 24-hour butler service, this landmark hotel fuses old-school glitz and tradition with sparkling new world energy, amenities and world-class dining – much like the city itself.

The downtown location doesn’t get much better, flanked by the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Humayun's Tomb and the lush greenery of Delhi Golf Course (India’s oldest course). The hotel still looks fresh from its $100m makeover five years ago. Its new look was overseen by lauded architecture atelier Tihany Design, which took inspiration from ‘Lutyens’ Delhi’; a grand district of the city designed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens in the 1920s. (Think contemporary meets art deco with a good helping of Indian antiques and art.)

The renovation reduced the hotel's capacity from 283 rooms and suites to 220, meaning generous floor plans and a luxury residential feel. All of The Oberoi, New Delhi's 34 suites boast separate living rooms, exceptional views and 24 hour butler service, but its crowning glory is without doubt the Kohinoor Suite. With views below of both the historic course and Humayun’s Tomb, the lavish one-of-a-kind suite offers nearly 3,500 sq ft of serenity in the New Dehli sky.

An expansive living room adorned in teak furnishings, silks and handmade rugs leads to a formal dining room seating eight. The primary bedroom suite features a separate private living room and a palatial marble ensuite bathroom. This leads to a private gym and a separate therapy room where guests can indulge in Ayurveda-inspired massages and anti-aging facials without even having to leave their front door.

The Hotel

Blending heritage with modern luxury, The Oberoi, New Delhi is a landmark hotel in India’s capital. Guests can indulge in award-winning dining experiences, including Omya for authentic Indian cuisine and Baoshuan for contemporary Chinese flavors. The hotel’s renowned spa, temperature-controlled pool, and rooftop bar add to its appeal. Strategically located near iconic sites like India Gate and Connaught Place, The Oberoi is a premier choice for both business and leisure travelers in New Delhi.
