The Suite
Aman New York’s Aman Suites are the largest one-bedroom accommodations in the Crown Building. Located on floors 11 and 12, they offer views of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, one of the city’s most recognizable intersections. The design blends contemporary New York aesthetics with the refined minimalism of Japan. Each suite is designed for extended stays, featuring a dedicated office, kitchenette and wet bar. A functioning fireplace separates the principal bedroom—where a king-sized bed takes center stage—from the rest of the space. In the living area, plush seating surrounds two coffee tables, while a six-person dining table provides space for meals or gatherings. Curated artwork, including reproductions of Hasegawa Tohaku’s Pine Trees, adds an elegant finishing touch.
The Hotel
The Aman Hotel is housed in the historic Beaux-Arts Crown Building at the bustling corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street. Legendary designer Jean-Michel Gathy was brought in to create the minimalist interiors which, true to Aman form, are a serene haven away from the bustle of the city. The guest rooms, by New York City standards, are huge — suites start at a very impressive 750 sq ft. The aesthetic? If you are a devoted Amanite, you’ll know that true luxury exists in all those subtle, calming details and muted tones. The food pays homage to Aman’s Asian roots, so don’t expect the usual American fare you find at many other New York City spots. For relaxed afternoons away from the bustling city, guests can retreat to the hotel’s expansive spa, complete with a Japanese-inspired onsen and wellness facilities.
