The Suite

This penthouse design leans heavily into the principles of 'wabi-sabi', presenting a sleek, modern stay above the bustling city. Interiors feature dark wood floors and cream accents, grounded by contemporary pieces from Karimoku Case. A stylish kitchen, complete with island seating, defines the central space, opening directly onto the main dining and lounging areas.

While the interior design remains understated, the outlook is commanding. Large, east-facing windows frame the entire skyline. Window-side benches are strategically placed, offering a spot to watch the morning sun illuminate the city over a cup of green tea.

The bathroom is arguably the suite's most compelling feature. It includes a deep jacuzzi bath and a dedicated massage room sized for two. The large rain shower is positioned directly against the floor-to-ceiling windows, turning a simple routine into a dramatic, high-altitude moment.

The Hotel

Located atop the newly-built Tokyu Kabukicho Tower – the latest addition to the city’s already-impressive list of skyscrapers – Bellustar Tokyo feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku below. The hotel does not shy away from the fact that it is a hotel aimed at overseas travelers. In fact, in a country filled with hotels trying to offer traditional experiences and boasting Japanese design aesthetics, Bellustar Tokyo’s distinctly Western design is a welcome breath of air. Even so, it doesn’t feel completely foreign – subtle touches like calligraphy artwork on the walls and the staff’s impeccable service remain authentically Japanese. The hotel’s three restaurants and bars highlight Japan’s seasonality and traditional ingredients: Restaurant Bellustar celebrates Japanese ingredients and French cuisine; Teppan “Ten-Yu” offers Teppan-yaki dining more than 650 feet above the ground; and Sushi “Jin-È” brings the art of sushi to life. Bar Bellustar offers a lively setting to enjoy innovative cocktails, incredible city views, and immersive performances. The Tenku spa, perched atop the hotel, invites guests to leave behind daily stresses and indulge in holistic energy treatments and medicinal aromatherapy for ultimate relaxation.
