Following the success of their involvement in the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing, Polo Ralph Lauren is once again teaming up with the U.S. Olympic Committee for the upcoming 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games as official outfitter of the participating U.S. teams.
As part of this collaboration, Polo Ralph Lauren will design the official outfits for both the opening ceremony and closing ceremony parade, in addition to a special collection of apparel and accessories to be worn by athletes in the Olympic village. It’s not the first time the company has brought style to sporting events—Polo Ralph Lauren also serves as the official apparel sponsor for both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, in addition to sponsoring a full roster of pro golfers and polo players. For 2010, Team USA will be decked out in classic Americana-inspired apparel, in a fittingly patriotic palette of red, white and blue.
While you might not be heading to Vancouver this winter to try for the gold, you can still look the part: Apparel from the entire Polo Ralph Lauren U.S. Olympic and Paralympic team parade outfit will be available for purchase, as well as a full range of the athletes’ village wear. Polo Ralph Lauren has also signed on to continue their winning partnership with the USOC into 2012, when the company will outfit the U.S. teams heading to the Olympic and Paralympic games in London.
