SEPTEMBER 11 – 21, 2015
The origins of Autumn Dippemess can be traced back to the 14th century when it began life as a market for household crafts and pots called “dippe”, which is where the festival’s name comes from.
Autumn Dippemess treats its 500,000 visitors to a colorful festival that embraces the history and culture of the region over a ten-day period. No visit to Autumn Dippemess is complete without sampling Apfelwein, the local apple wine that is so famous in the Main region. Traditionally served in rustic earthenware jugs, Apfelwein can be drunk on its own or as part of a cocktail. The festival is opened and closed by a jaw-dropping firework display and is Frankfurt’s unique way to say farewell to the summer with a bang.
