Considered the world’s most prestigious harness race, the Prix d’Amérique occurs annually in January at the Vincennes Hippodrome in Paris, brightening winter with its crowds and general ambiance of festivity.
It was started in 1920 as a way for the French to thank America for its assistance during World War I. In addition to the 18 driver/horse teams, a spectacular parade of more than 150 performers also graces the race track, making for an elite and simultaneously convivial event.
