TONHALLE ORCHESTRA ZURICH

Founded in 1868, the Tonhalle Orchestra is the oldest symphony orchestra in Switzerland and its home, the neue Tonhalle, is widely acknowledged as one of the finest concert halls in the world.

Under the direction of its chief conductor, David Zinman, the Tonhalle Orchestra has become one of Europe’s leading ensembles and it has received the coveted German Record Critic’s Award for its performances. Landmark recordings of works by Strauss, Schumann and Beethoven have added further prestige to this fine orchestra.

Asia Spa

Asia Spa is one of the most famous spas in Zurich, thanks to the professionalism of its staff and its wide variety of body and face treatments.

Ideally located in the heart of the city, the spa also offers visitors the chance to sample some unusual saunas. Choose from the aromatic cherry and jasmine blossom or take advantage of the curative effects of the Himalayan salt sauna. In addition, clients can choose from a variety of Asian massages and meditation techniques, a comfortable lounge, and modern gym as well as an Asian hammam.

LAKE ZURICH

Surrounded by the Albis and Zimmerberg hills to the north and Pfannenstiel hills to the south, this banana-shaped lake is one of the cleanest in the world.

Perfect for swimming – temperatures reach more than 20°C during summer – it is also used as part of Zurich’s water supply. The lake extends north to a stretch of magnificent houses and villas belonging to the rich and famous, while heading east will take you to beautiful gardens. Elite Traveler recommends a morning or late afternoon boat trip on Lake Zurich to fully appreciate all this stunning lake has to offer.
