Come the holiday season, the landscape at Edgewood Tahoe Resort transforms, shedding its green summer skin to reemerge as a winter wonderland.
To mark this celebratory time of the year, the charming Nevada resort ups the ante on its seasonal programming to offer its esteemed guests a number of festive events, experiences and activities, all against the backdrop of the largest alpine lake in North America.
The highlight of the season is undoubtedly the resort’s 12 Days of Christmas program that runs from December 20 through New Year’s Eve. The festive countdown features a new themed activity or experience each day, whether it be cookie decorating or whiskey tasting, as well as daily s’mores and hot cocoa socials.
The 12 Days of Christmas culminates with a grand New Year’s Eve celebration, where special dining experiences are hosted across the resort. The grandest of all is the Edgewood Restaurant VIP Experience, which invites guests to celebrate the arrival of 2024 in style with a paired seven-course dinner, celebratory cocktails and live entertainment.
Running alongside the holiday programming, Edgewood Tahoe will be hosting a number of special activities all season long, making the most out of the dramatic Nevada winter. This includes Edgewood on Ice, which opens November 22 and runs through March 25.
Surrounded by fairy-light-adorned pine trees and snowcapped mountains, the outdoor ice skating rink invites families, couples and friends to create a new winter tradition. For a special occasion, make use of the option to book the rink on an exclusive-use basis.
Guests can also reserve a spot on an Edgewood Après Adventure. Available from November through April, this outdoor activity is hosted by a local expert guide and takes participants on a two-mile nature walk or snowshoe experience, during which they will share tales of the property’s long history. Afterward, guests are invited to settle in beside the fire with a warm cocktail.
The resort’s standard winter programming will still be in action, too. Guests with a penchant for adventure might relish the chance to hit the slopes — Lake Tahoe is home to some of the most immaculate runs in the country, and Edgewood Tahoe is perfectly placed to get you to them. The resort is partnered with Ski Heavenly — a nearby resort with 97 trails and terrain suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced skiers, and snowboarders.
Whether you’re bringing your own or renting, Edgewood Tahoe’s on-site ski partner, Ski Butlers, offers in-suite fittings and is on hand to make switches throughout the day, leaving you to focus on which runs to try first. At the end of an exhilarating day on the slopes, head back to Edgewood Tahoe for a warming pick-me-up.
Don’t be fooled into thinking Edgewood Tahoe is a winter-only resort, though: When the snow finally begins to melt and the warmer season settles in once again, guests can make use of the extensive summer programming at the resort. Think: guided kayak tours, stand-up paddleboarding and fly fishing, or teeing off at the resort’s famous golf course.
