Extraordinary Last-minute Valentine’s Day Escapes

By Alex Martin

Valentine’s Day 2020 is just around the corner, but the most romantic adventures are surely those that are taken at the last minute. To celebrate the most romantic day of the year, we are rounding up the most extraordinary Valentine’s Day escapes that are ready to sweep you off your feet at a moment’s notice.

The Peninsula New York

For one night only, The Peninsula New York will transport besotted couples to the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps, all without leaving Manhattan. The hotel will transform its popular Chalet de Ning (two chalet-inspired domes on the roof terrace) into a cozy and sumptuous private room for two. The chalets will be filled with all of the trappings of a luxury ski lodge and decorated with a one-of-a-kind floral creation by McQueens Flowers for a romantic touch.

This over-the-top experience includes copious amounts of fine champagne and Petrossian Caviar, which will be delivered upon request by a dedicated personal butler. Guests will also enjoy a private dining experience with a menu hand-crafted by the hotel’s executive chef Jim Reutemann. The dinner will conclude with a specially created dessert paired with hand-selected champagne by the hotel’s own sommelier. Then, the couple will retreat to their cabin for a night sleeping under the stars.
