Aman Resorts has announced the opening of Aman New Delhi, a luxurious city resort within reach of Delhi’s bustling center and just minutes away from numerous iconic sites such as Humayun’s Tomb, Purana Qila and India Gate.

Aman New Delhi Designed by Australian architect Kerry Hill, Aman New Delhi houses 31 rooms and 36 one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, located in the main nine-story building or in an elegant five-story structure overlooking a manicured courtyard and hotel pool. Many of the rooms and suites also have their own internal plunge pools, a unique feature in a city property.

Contemporary lines and modern amenities fused with traditional Indian design add tranquility and timelessness. Floors are olive-hued Khareda stone, warmed by handmade rugs in muted earth tones and dark wood panels accentuated by discreet lighting. Traditional jaali screens provide terraces and exteriors with an aura of mystery, casting endless patterns of sunlight and shade onto stone walls and floors. Suites are furnished with crisp white linens and woolen throws dressing king-sized beds, upholstered day-beds, and brass vases of marigolds adding a splash of color.

Rooms and suites vary in size and configuration, each with sitting/dining areas, writing desks, separate dressing areas, double vanities and large bathrooms. A picture window separates the bathroom and bedroom areas and frames a 16′ x 16′ private plunge pool with daybed and views of the city. All rooms feature terraces with outdoor seating, and are equipped with WiFi, Bose sound systems and flat-screen televisions. Each floor features dedicated butler service.

Aman New Delhi dining options range from authentic north Indian cuisine to international fare. The AmanRestaurant, with its mirrored interior and vaulted ceilings, serves Indian and Thai specialties at breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as afternoon tea. The Naoki counter is an integral part of the restaurant, featuring French kaiseki fare which combines the best of French technique with Japanese artistry. The menu also features fresh seasonal vegetables from the gardens of Aman-i-Khás and Amanbagh, Amanresorts’ sister resorts in Rajasthan. The Lodhi Restaurant, in a three-story structure with floor-to-ceiling windows framing a reflecting pool, features a tapas lounge on the lower level and Catalan cuisine on the entry level and second floor.

Traditional Indian healing techniques blended harmoniously with modern therapies are the specialty of the Spa at Aman New Delhi. With eight treatment rooms, two traditional hammam steam baths and a bamboo garden relaxation area, the extensive spa features treatments for men and women, as well as a hair and beauty studio from celebrated stylist Kim Robinson. The Health Centre, set in a tranquil sunken courtyard, includes tennis and squash courts as well as a gym with personal trainers. A 164-foot pool overlooks the Pool Bar where Indian snacks and light meals are served.

The Aman experience extends beyond the hotel with customized excursions to Delhi’s atmospheric markets, gardens, monuments and sites, or farther afield to Amanresorts’ sister properties, Aman-i-Khás and Amanbagh. A fleet of India’s Ambassador automobiles is available for local sightseeing. Produced in India in 1948, the post-World War II Ambassador is a signature of the Indian subcontinent. The Aman fleet offers uniquely upgraded retro interiors for a dose of old-time Delhi charm.
