New York, NY: The 6th Annual Style LA event showcased swim and resort fashions in support of Facial Paralysis Foundation and Stop the Violence/Face the Music, at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica on Monday, July 28, 2008. This gala evening was hosted by the Kardashian sisters, Kim, Khloé and Kourtney. The runway featured bold gold jewelry from more than 30 fine jewelry designers, as the primary accessory for the show. Taking place over the pool, models wore fashions from 9 resort designers: Christian LaCroix, John Galliano, Monique Leshman, Haverhill, Miki Nembhard, Plush Premium Denim, Sea Queen Gottex, and Ina Soltani.
Some of the biggest fashion trends from the runway included a world of color (earth tones, brilliant bright hues and a range of pinks and yellows), tribal prints(abstract art inspirations, ethnic themes and patterns/prints), pin up girls (Betty Grable and Norma Jean Baker inspired with lots of ruching, high waists and emphasis on the bust) and Urban Chic (a mix of denim fabrications with short hemlines, feminine bikini tops and cargo inspired looks).
Gold jewelry and accessories ranged from bold statement earrings to long pendant necklaces and gold link bracelets, thin stackable bangles and textured cuffs.
