New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
Zürich’s fifth annual “Art in the Park” outdoor exhibition will take place from June 12 through August 1, 2010, in the park that surrounds the city’s venerable Baur au Lac. The show is created and curated by Gigi Kracht, the wife of Andrea Kracht, the sixth-generation owner of the Baur au Lac, and is done in cooperation with Zürich’s Galerie Gmurzynska.
This year’s exhibition is devoted to Pop Art. American painter and printmaker Mel Ramos’ legendary “Life Saver” work will be on exhibit through August 1. Ronnie Cutrone produced an entirely new work for this event, “Cowboy and Indian.” Robert Indiana will be represented, complete with his characteristic numbers and letters, and Jani Leinonen demonstrates that Pop Art is “larger” than ever with an installation of a giant box of Trix cereal. Fernando Botero, with his customary opulence, presents “Man on Horse,” while Rotraut’s work pushes the envelope between what distinguishes painting from sculpture. Works by Tony Cragg, Richard Woods and Nina Saunders will also be on display -bringing the total of artists exhibiting to nine.
