Classic brand Brooks Brothers has launched a limited-release suit that celebrates the sharp ’60s style made chic again by award-winning AMC series Mad Men. Designed in collaboration with the show’s acclaimed costume designer, Janie Bryant, the “Mad Men Edition” suit features sleek tailoring inspired by looks seen on characters like Don Draper (played by John Hamm) and Roger Sterling (John Slattery).
Made at Brooks Brothers’ own Southwick manufacture in Haverhill, MA, and completely hand-finished, the suit is just as all-American as the label itself. With details like narrow lapels, diagonal pockets and side vents, offered up in a grey shark skin fabric, the suit evokes early-1960s sophistication with a fresh, modern twist.
Since the show’s launch in 2007, Brooks Brothers has partnered with Bryant to create signature looks for all characters. The pairing is an obvious fit: Brooks Brothers was at the forefront of fashion in 1961, changing the way men thought about suiting with the release of their revolutionary two-button suit silhouette, the “#1 model.”
Now the label’s latest reincarnation of the suit is poised to make history again. Just 250 were made, each featuring a commemorative “Mad Men Edition” label. With a retail price of $998, the “Mad Men Edition” suit will be sold online and in select stores until the season finale airs on November 8. Visit www.brooksbrothers.com for more information.
