Saratoga, Wyoming – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch, a Preferred Boutique Hotel and Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing Lodge that is setting the new standard in all-inclusive resorts, announced today the opening of Magee Homestead at Brush Creek Ranch, an ultra private “Ranch within a Ranch.” Officially opened in January and located just five miles from the main Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch, Magee Homestead features a private lodge and collection of seven historically restored cabins in a tranquil, creek-side setting tucked amidst rolling meadowlands and natural rock outcroppings in the heart of Wyoming cattle and ranching country. With its immaculate private lodge and dedicated staff, Magee Homestead offers the ideal secluded hideaway for intimate gatherings for the most discerning individuals and families as well as corporate, wedding and leisure groups.
“The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch is located in such a pristine and remote location that we felt compelled to create a place that offers true privacy and exclusivity for a select few,” said Bruce White, owner of Brush Creek Ranch. “There very few places left in this world that provide complete privacy and luxury while still being understated and down-to-earth and we believe Magee Homestead is the best of them.”
Much like the rest of Brush Creek Ranch, Magee Homestead has its own fascinating history. The property on which Magee Homestead sits was a cow camp and hay-producing ranch back in the early 1900s. The smaller cabins on the property, which have been renovated and turned into individual lodging cabins, were once used as housing for cowpokes. The name of each individual cabin – TZ, Elk Hollow, Burgess, Wood, Pierce, Downie and Wiant – comes from the original property title work, which likely reflects the names of the original homesteaders before the Ranch was combined into one larger property. In addition, a stagecoach still at the Ranch near owner Bruce White’s home is from the original Magee Homestead and was used as a stage stop for the Gold Hill Stage route.
The crown jewel of Magee Homestead is its luxurious lodge. The lodge, as well as all of the cabins, were designed by Simeone Deary Design Group, an award-winning interior design firm known for its iconic and inspired projects. The large, open club room offers a comfortable living area as well as a game room featuring an elegant bar with antique rifle collection. The walls are bedecked with a trophy hunt collection overlooking a Steinway seven-foot grand piano, hand-carved billiards table, poker tables and two indoor fireplaces. The staffed private kitchen and dining room provide daily service of meals and beverages including premium beers, wine and spirits. Outdoors, the Magee lodge features spacious outdoor dining and entertainment patio with an outdoor fireplace and expansive views.
Accommodations at Magee Homestead are found in a collection of seven historically restored cabins with nine total bedrooms that sleeps up to 25 guests. One of the standouts is the three-bedroom TZ Cabin Residence, which includes a full kitchen, dining room and living area. Other cabins range in size, but each includes an en suite bathroom and unique, plush interior design as well as Antica Farmistica® toiletry products.
The common areas at Magee Homestead include expansive manicured lawns featuring a bocce court, horseshoe court, several fire pits and a pergola with spacious outdoor hot tub. Brush Creek Ranch provides a private concierge to handle every Magee Homestead guest’s needs, including scheduling activities such as horseback riding, Bow & Gun Club, ranger tours, wing shooting, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, float trips and more, all of which will conveniently deploy directly from Magee. Many activities are available right at the Homestead as well, including fly fishing on the restored Elk Hollow Creek, a private tee pee for spa treatments and hiking and biking trails that connect to the Ranch’s 50 miles of maintained trails. A private stable will be home to Ranch horses while guests are in-residence as well.
While Magee Homestead offers the ultimate in exclusive and privacy, Magee’s guests will also have access to The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch. Whether for morning yoga on Falcon Peak Overlook or poker night at the Saloon, Magee Homestead guests are always welcome to enjoy the many additional amenities at The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek Ranch.
