Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has announced the opening of the newly transformed Le Méridien Hotel Chicago—Oakbrook Center.

After its $25 million interior and exterior transformation, the chic Le Méridien Hotel Chicago—Oakbrook Center, a mere 25 minutes from downtown Chicago, offers a multitude of amenities for business guests and vacationers alike. Mirroring the luxurious boutiques and upscale dining of Oakbrook, Le Méridien Chicago has a variety of specialties, including the hotel’s signature Le Méridien Hub. The Le Méridien Hub is composed of four elements: large-scale artwork in high impact areas; a sensory experience through the hotel’s signature scent, sound, and use of light; UNLOCK ART program, featuring artist designed key card collections which offer access to Elmhurst Art Museum; and a 24-hour soundtrack by Nouvelle Vague. Also provided through Le Méridien Hub are Master Baristas, who serve as coffee cultural ambassadors and provide knowledge of current coffee trends in the area.Untitled-1

With 172 guestrooms and suites, 3,500 square feet of event space, two contemporary Spa Suites, and a modern Spanish restaurant, Le Méridien Chicago is an unrivaled experience. Upon arrival, guests first experience a large mural by contemporary artist Justus Roe, which depicts the architecture of the city. The Hub features an installation of a deconstructed bicycle, with the bike chain in the shape of Illinois, the headlight representing Chicago. On each floor of the lobby, guests will find images of Chicago’s famous “L” train. Throughout the hotel are abstract designs of signature Chicago patterns, for example, Daniel Burnham’s original city plans for Chicago.

On the ninth floor of the hotel, guests will find a 3,000-square-foot Grand Salon Ballroom and Executive Club Lounge, as well as the new rooftop Spanish restaurant, El Tapeo, with floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of the skyline. Crafted by culinary artist and native Chicagoan, Chef Franco Diaz, the menu features authentic Spanish dishes. Also featured at the hotel is a 25-seat lounge and 12-seat bar, where guests can enjoy fresh, handcrafted cocktails, and tapas appetizers.

In addition to Le Méridien’s special amenities, the hotel also features two Spa Suites, with custom stone and marble decor, a stone-tiled rain shower steam room with a 32” heated mosaic tile bed with ten body sprayers, a spacious soaking tub, and relaxation lounge. The lounge offers several spa treatment services for guests, in partnership with ESPA.
