New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Available exclusively at Dorchester Collection hotels in major fashion capitals—including 45 Park Lane and The Dorchester in London, Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan and Paris’ Le Meurice and Hôtel Plaza Athénée—the group’s newest cocktail menu celebrates the five talented designers who have been shortlisted for the 2011 Dorchester Fashion Prize. Dorchester Collection became the first luxury hotel group to present an award for fashion design when it launched the prize last year.
Coinciding with Europe’s fashion weeks, from this September 15th through October 5th, the haute cocktails were conceived by each hotel’s bar manager and inspired by the designers and their respective collections. New York-based designer Siki Im worked with 45 Park Lane’s Stefano Cossio to create the “Silent Thunderbird,” a decadent blend of Maker’s Mark Bourbon and a shot of espresso. The Mexican heritage of Anndra Neen designers Phoebe and Annette Stephens influenced the “Anndra Neen Ruby,” a brilliant red mescal-based libation crafted by Thierry Hernandez of Hôtel Plaza Athénée.
This year’s Dorchester Fashion Prize judges include luminaries like international fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia, editor and bestselling author Derek Blasberg, noted menswear designer Thom Browne, Calvin Klein collection women’s creative director Francisco Costa, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig of Marchesa and more. This fall, they will select one standout designer from the 2011 shortlist to receive $40,000 to develop their brand and the chance to present their collection during Paris Fashion Week at Hôtel Plaza Athénée.
