By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

TORONTO, – Fairmont Hotels & Resorts announced its second project in India, Fairmont Jaipur. Scheduled to open in 2010, the hotel, located in Rajasthan in the northwest of India, joins Fairmont Hyderabad as the luxury hotel brand’s first forays into the Indian market. The property is being developed by Capricorn Hospitality Investments India, Limited and its local partner.

The 248-room hotel will offer guests a variety of restaurants and bars, including a poolside bar, a 10,000 square foot Willow Stream spa, and a 5,000 square foot health club. To accommodate the area’s growing meetings market, there will also be a 48,500 square foot Convention Center as well as gardens that can host over 1000 guests, perfect for business functions or weddings.

The building’s design will reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage and the Fairmont Jaipur will be located not far from the Amber Fort, one of the area’s major landmarks.

“We’re proud to be affiliated with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and look forward to building on the brand’s growing presence in India,” stated Hitesh Bhayani, Executive Finance Director, Capricorn Hospitality. ““We’re confident that with a global reputation for hospitality excellence, and a commitment to reflecting the best of a community in its hotels, Fairmont Jaipur will embody the rich history and culture of this city.””

The Fairmont Jaipur joins another property opening in 2010, the Fairmont Hyderabad, in the capital city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
