St. Petersburg, Russia – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
In honor of its 150th anniversary, the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia has partnered with the Grand Hotel Europe to present the first-ever Mariinsky Opera Ball. Scheduled to take place on September 17, 2010, the cultural event will incorporate ballet, music and multimedia performances.
With a primary goal of uniting tradition with contemporary interpretation, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin worked closely with Maestro Valery Gergiev to create a magical event that will include appearances by famous artists, opera singers and the Mariinsky Orchestra. Inspired by the Semper Opera Ball’s blend of classical music, entertainment, international artists and innovative concepts, the Prime Minister sought to incorporate these same elements into the Mariinsky Opera Ball with hopes of creating a space for future international cultural events in St. Petersburg.
In cooperation with the Opera Ball, Grand Hotel Europe has decided to participate in the exciting event as the official hotel partner. The historical and luxurious 135-year-old hotel has put together an elite package for guests looking to stay in St. Petersburg during the time of the event. The package includes:
