Turnbull & Asser, one of the most well-known shirt and suit makers in the world launches Bespoken, a men’s collection offering a modern interpretation of traditional tailoring for the younger, more contemporary man. Designed and manufactured in England under the same designers and pattern cutters as Turnbull & Asser, Bespoken garments are made of fabrics sourced from British textile mills and feature classic English cues such as double vents, slanted ticket pockets and hallmark gingham fabric linings on blazers – the historic luxury taken to a more casual, younger lifestyle.
Created in Fall of 2007 by Turnbull & Asser brothers James, Sam, and Liam Fayed and their friends Carlos and Paulo Goncalves, Bespoken represents the team’s affinity for uncompromised craftsmanship and quality, but in a less-literal fashion. The Fall/Winter ’09 collection draws inspiration from the post-war movement of the 40’s and 50’s, an era when a more liberated society emerged. The fashions of the time were deemed by critics to be “utilitarian,” an idea heavily prevalent in the subtle detailing, slim lines, and minimalist designs of the brand’s functional clothing.
Bespoken is available at Harrod’s in London and Bloomingdale’s in New York, Chicago and San Francisco. Visit bespokenclothiers.com
