Following on from Fabio Ermetto’s appointment as Chief Commercial Officer for Benetti, the Azimut | Benetti Board of Directors has appointed Roberto Giorgi, Honorary President of V.Ships as the Executive Chairman of Fraser Yachts, effective 1st September 2014.
The Group’s shareholders have been very happy with the changes and strategy implemented at Fraser Yachts in the last year; confirming its position as the leading brokerage house and are very keen for this action to continue. Having represented V.Ships, the minority shareholder of Fraser Yachts for many years, the Board are confident that Roberto Giorgi is best placed to ensure the continuity of the current strategy and business plan.
Mr Giorgi first started working for V. Ships over 30 years ago and has since gained a unique experience in the naval and nautical world, launching and managing the Leisure and Ship Management divisions. In his new role, Mr Giorgi will continue to build on the platform already started by Mr Ermetto.
Paolo Vitelli, Chairman and shareholder of the Azimut Benetti Group said “I would like to thank Fabio Ermetto for the work he has done at Fraser Yachts in the last year. We are looking forward to working with him more closely in the Azimut | Benetti Group”. Ferruccio Luppi, CEO of the Azimut Benetti Group added “We are also delighted that Roberto Giorgi will be taking a more active role at Fraser Yachts. His vast experience at leading V.Ships, the largest supplier of management and outsourcing services to the maritime leisure industry will enable him to continue the development and international growth of Fraser Yachts that Fabio has already started.”
Mr Giorgi commented “I am pleased to be able to continue the work and strategy that Fabio has already put in place. Fraser Yachts consistently sells more yachts than any other brokerage and is on course to do so for the 5th year running. I look forward to working with the Directors and staff of Fraser Yachts, coaching the talent in their future careers and building on our already leading position.”
Mr Giorgi will remain honorary President at V.Ships and keep all his various responsibilities within the Group and its affiliated companies.
