Who doesn’t like to be pampered while watching a movie? Add in a martini, roof-top terrace, and some home-made popcorn and you’ve got yourself an unbeatable evening at London’s The Berkeley Health Club & Spa.
Known as the place to see and be seen during the summer, this ultra luxurious hotel has transformed its palm-lined roof-top terrace into a midnight movie theatre. Set high above the Knightsbridge streets, hotel guests and Londoners alike are invited to escape the hustle and bustle of London nightlife and watch the latest fashion documentaries on the big screen. But in place of the usual theater’s small chairs and stuffy atmosphere, guests are given Blue Bar martinis, home-made popcorn, mini ice cream cones, a spa therapist who will perform manicures with a choice of Chanel’s latest Les Pop-Up nail polish and of course, a fresh London breeze.
After being pampered, cozy up on a sun lounger with a Mulberry blanket and enjoy the film — all documentaries offer a look behind the scenes of some of the world’s leading fashion houses. Showings include Le Jour D’Avant, featuring Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Proenza Schouler and Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as Signe Chanel, Valentino: The Last Emperor, The September Issue, Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton, and Lagerfeld Confidential.
To start your midnight summer fun, the Midnight Movies, Martinis & Manicures offer starts at $602 (485 Euro) based on double occupancy, and includes an overnight stay at the Berkeley Hotel with an experience of the roof-top cinema, complete with summer treats, martinis and manicures. Londoners can gain access to the special movie showings by booking a similar package for $105 (85 Euro) per person, which also includes 2 signature Blue Bar cocktails per guest, a mini-manicure with Chanel’s hottest summer colors and unlimited ice cream and popcorn. This package is subject to availability, available on Fridays in June, July, and August weather permitting.
