  • Park Hyatt Opens First Mexico Property

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol has officially opened, marking the brand’s debut in Mexico. The Baja California property stretches along the coastline of Cabo del Sol, featuring 163 rooms, including 88 suites and three private villas.

The Los Cabos resort was designed by Mexican architect and interior designer Sordo Madaleno, alongside Paulina Morán and George Wong Design. Madaleno drew inspiration from historic Mexican architecture, reinterpreting courtyards, arcades, water features, and timber structures with a modern touch.

“Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol is inspired by the natural duality that defines Los Cabos: land and sea, openness and refuge, light and shadow – a sanctuary that offers a home away from home, where warmth, serenity, and the spirit of Baja come together in perfect harmony,” said Madaleno, lead architect.

Dining is set to be a highlight. Guests can enjoy Costamar, a beach club overlooking the Sea of Cortez, and Mesa Madre, a Mexican restaurant celebrating home-style family cooking. The resort also prioritizes wellness with a 59,000-sq-ft fitness and wellness center, one of the largest in the region, with a yoga studio, beachside pool, and 24-hour gym.

While guestrooms are ready, more is on the horizon: the resort’s signature restaurant, Silan, and the Araya Spa are expected to open in spring 2026.

  • Montage Reveals Upcoming Valle de Guadalupe Resort

Montage Hotels and Resorts has revealed plans for its latest Mexican property inside Bruma Wine Estate, Montage Valle de Guadalupe. Just an hour from the US-Mexico border, the property will feature 62 guestrooms and a limited collection of Montage Residences.

Bruma is home to Bruma Winery and Fauna, one of Latin America’s most celebrated restaurants. Valle de Guadalupe is a must-visit for food and wine lovers, with over 150 wineries producing 90 per cent of Mexico’s wine, plus multiple Michelin-starred restaurants. Building on existing amenities at Bruma, the resort will also offer a wine club and vintner program, new dining venues, a community center with a chef’s garden and artisanal shops, a Bruma Wellness Center, and an on-site equestrian facility.

Expected to open in 2028, the resort will be Montage International’s fifth property in Mexico, following Montage Los Cabos (2018). Looking to the future, Montage is doubling down on Mexico, with Pendry Punta Mita and Pendry Mexico City in development.

  • Magnifica Air Introduces New Air Travel Class

Magnifica Air, a new aviation start-up, is set to launch in 2027 with Private Class, a travel category positioned between private and commercial flying. From its Florida hub, the airline will initially serve Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and the Bay Area, with seasonal routes to Napa Valley and the Caribbean.

The fleet, consisting of an Airbus A220-300 and an A321neo aircraft, will carry 45-54 passengers, including 2-4 private suites per plane. Cabin seating resembles business class with lie-flat seats, which, when compared to the private aviation experience, offers limited privacy, suggesting the distinction from standard business class lies less in the onboard experience and more in pre- and post-flight service.

Passengers arrive 30 minutes before departure at private terminals, with baggage handling and TSA screening handled inside the lounge. On arrival, luggage is delivered within minutes, and chauffeurs are ready curbside.

While the cabin itself may not meet the promise of ‘private class’, the streamlined ground experience points to a shift in how high-end commercial travel is set to evolve, prioritizing convenience and efficiency over in-flight luxury.
