Welcome back to The Check-In, your touchpoint for all things travel. Think of this as your check-in for the latest news, your check-in before takeoff and your check-in to the world’s most exclusive stays.

This week, we have everything from a first look inside the world’s most-talked-about superyacht, the ULYSSIA, to the luxury brand pop-up bringing new life to the Capri Hotel in Southampton this summer.

  • Rosewood Doha Opens in Lusail, Qatar

Rosewood Doha has officially opened its doors in Lusail, Qatar, becoming the brand’s third property in the Middle East, alongside Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Rosewood Jeddah.

The new hotel features 155 guest rooms, 162 apartments and 276 residences, with architecture inspired by Qatar’s coral reefs. Other notable features include the hotel’s eight dining concepts, grand residential venue spaces and the region’s first Asaya wellness club.

Rosewood’s Middle East expansion continues, with three more Saudi Arabian properties, Rosewood Diriyah (opening in 2027), Rosewood Red Sea and Rosewood Amaala, in the pipeline.

  • Exclusive First Look Inside Residential Superyacht ULYSSIA

A first look is now available inside the ULYSSIA, a 1,050ft megayacht set to hit the seas late 2028.

Designed by Espen Øino and constructed by Meyer Werft, ULYSSIA will be the world’s most exclusive residential yacht community. An official first look at the ship’s lobby space, the Air Garden, shows off a double-height space inspired by gallery-like interiors. At the center of the space lies a lagoon-like carpet encircled by a crystal waterfall. The new interiors reiterate ULYSSIA’s emphasis on nature-connected spaces that become an extension of residents’ homes as they travel the far corners of the globe.

ULYSSIA places sustainability and philanthropy at the heart of its design and operations, allowing residents to contribute to local communities through disaster relief, marine conservation and other forms of assistance at each location.

Vista Ostuni, 14th-century palazzo turned grand hotel, has opened its doors.

With restoration led by architect Roberto Murgia, the renewed Vista Ostuni combines centuries-old heritage with contemporary Apulian hospitality.

Home to 28 rooms and suites, special amenities include a Biologique Recherche spa, a rooftop infinity pool and a Mediterranean garden designed by Erik Dhont, as well as a signature dining concept led by Michelin-starred chef Andrea Berton.

  • Andean Launches Newest Secluded Retreat in Tinajani, Peru

    Tinajani, Peru

Tinajani, Andean’s newest retreat launching July 2025, will be a low-impact retreat, featuring just six safari-style “campamentos,” allowing its remote, highland setting to take center stage.

The retreat takes place at a 19th-century sheep farm-turned-conservation, is situated in Peru’s remote Altiplano, between Cusco and Lake Titicaca. It features the restored 1890s ‘Casona,’ the original family home and open-air lounge and dining areas. Each tented suite includes a bedroom and a separate lounge, furnished with Peruvian cotton bedding, alpaca throws, lambswool rugs and a wood-burning stove. Private decks are complete with open-air hot tubs.

Everything down to the culinary experience at Tinajani is rooted in the Altiplano way of life. Excursions at Tinajani offer another opportunity to experience the land in its purest form, from hiking to pre-Incan petroglyphs hidden among sandstone cliffs to exploring the canyon on horseback.
